Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs supports a growing cardiovascular surgical practice at it's main campus. In 2006 approximately 472 cardiovascular procedures were performed at Penrose Hospital. A nationally recognized program with awards for clinical excellence in 2007, the program is led by an outstanding cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. James Stewart. A second surgeon is currently being recruited and is expected to be on board by Summer 2007.

The Cardiovascular Service Line is looking to recruit a highly skilled advance practice nurse to provide training and education to nurses caring for cardiovascular surgical patients and to implement best practices in cardiovascular surgery.
